legacyBrand new series we are launching tomorrow night in Youth Ministry called “Legacy“.  Art work was downloaded from pshero with my own little touch here and there.

One of the questions I constantly deal with is, “What do I want to be remembered for?” Many things come to mind, but I think the biggest of them all is I want people to know that I loved Jesus Christ and wanted God’s will for my life accomplished every single day.

When I was 15, I thought living the good life at that moment was my legacy! Wanting to be known as the kid with the hottest shoes, freshest hair cut, and latest drobe (clothes).  But ever since I gave my life to Jesus Christ 9 years ago, I realize living this life is not about me, but Jesus Christ who lives in me! My goal over the next 6 week is to show our teenagers that Jesus Christ has the ability to impact not just their world, but their friends world!! And through that impact, what legacy do they want to leave behind?

I saw someone right this on twitter….”Live your life in such a way that when you leave this life, the impact of your living is still vibrating.  What is your legacy?”

LETS GO!!

It’s been a while since I posted something. Twitter has been getting my attention for the past few months.  My goal is to post at least once a week.

But I’m currently reading this book Living by the Book (the art and science of reading the Bible)so I thought I’d post something that really struck me….

We frequently come 2 the Bible 2 study it, 2 teach it, 2 preach it, 2 outline it -everything except 2 B changed by it! -H. Hendricks (FIYAH)

Basketball is my favorite sport and I’ve been playing since I was 4, to bad it didn’t translate into a NBA career, lol.  I want to use basketball as an analogy to bring home the point even more about letting the Bible change us. The only way to get better at basketball is by practicing, watching film, reading & memorizing plays, and most of all game experience.

So lets say my weakness is dribbling with my left hand. Everyone and their momma know I don’t have a left. (not true in real life by the way) But everyday I’m studying game film, I’m practicing, I’m outlining how I could improve…..but come game time I don’t put into practice all that I did before hand. I didn’t let it change me come game time!! All I’m doing is going right and when I’m forced left I get scared. Like the Bible….I studied how to work on my left hand, I even taught people how to use their left hand, I practiced it, but I myself didnt change when the opportunity presented it self.

I know for me personally, ever since I’ve shared the message with our people at church about not taking the BAIT from the enemy, I’ve become more aware of the things that would usually cause me to lose my cool and I’m becoming a lot more patient.  Especially with driving.  But I’m still a work in progress, lol.

Colossians 3:12-17 brings it home clearly.

My question for you is, are you letting the Bible change you?
