I just received a free trial issue of Collide Magazine.  If your into technology and anything dealing with church technology, you have to check this magazine out.  This magazine is FIRE (down in the south it means Hot, Sharp, Great). Check out the website.

There is this article titled “Technology and the Virtual Church” – How we view technology determines how we will evangelize and equip the next generation.  And the article basically talks about how our computer-mediated culture is quickly becoming multimediacentric.  And we as a church need to keep up.

I remember our Sr. Pastor saying that the church is like 4 years behind the culture!!!!! Thats insane!! It’s magazine like this that will help close that gap.  Hopefully that gap doesn’t get any bigger!!  Im so excited about the future of our church!!!

Break the law, get a free headset?

It might sound a little odd, but online retailer Headsets.com has decided to make that idea the focus of a new marketing and educational campaign related to the new hands-free legislation that takes hold Tuesday in California and Washington.

In effect, if you get ticketed for talking on your cell phone without a headset while driving, pony up the $20 or $50 (depending on how many times you’ve been caught), then send documentation of your offense to Headsets.com.

You can read the rest of the article here..

Well if you ever wanted a free bluetooth headset and live in Cali or Washington here is your chance.  I can see it now, individuals driving by a police officer on purpose, roll their window down, and make sure the officer notices them on their phone.  Maybe even sticking their head out to be noticed.  Pay the violation fine of $20, send in the proof of ticket to (headsets.com), get free headset valued at ($149.99) and BAM, instant savings of $129.99.  Ha Ha.

Leading up to the service, I was super nervous!!!! But I believe God did His thing and really calm my nerves!!! Having some great leaders, including my wife, really helped!!

Message Title: Defining our Life’s Purpose

Message in a Sentence: We were created to Love God, Be like Jesus, Serve Others, and tell people about Jesus.

Message Length: 40 minutes. Included a drama from our drama team and a video from our teen campers doing Community Service.

Leader Involvement: Time to recruit some more leaders. School, Work, Family, and other activities have caused the number of leaders to go down. Those that came out, MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Element of Fun: Tonight was a different night. Some aspects were fun, but I believe the whole night was geared towards being Focused on the Holy Spirit.

Positive Environment: Great!! One of the young adults (Jay Jay) did a human mime, which was awesome!!!

Worship: The praise team as always did their thing, but I also believe that our students are continuing to understand what it means to worship. A lot of the students were raising their hands, had their eyes closed, and really wanted to worship tonight and focus.

Attendance: Above Average (3rd week in a row, well over 100 teens) Thats a good sign.

Overall Grade: B

Using the new FLIp camera to shoot all these videos. Here is some love to our teen campers, especially DANNY!!  The videos are the teens doing the Fine Arts component of Teen Camp.  The first video is the dance session, the second video is the choir session, and the last video is our drama session!! Shout out to our instructors too!!

Here is a little information about our Teen Camp program:

Life Impact Inc., is a not-for-profit faith based community service organization dedicated to help improve the quality of life in our community by providing services and innovative programs that address the needs of youth and their families.

During the summer we run a 6 – week Teen Camp program centered around community service projects, Wait Abstenence Training, Leadership Training, Money Management, Life Skills, and Health & Food classes. Some of the projects we have lined up for the teens include a beach clean up, working with this company called Neat Stuff putting together cloths and organizing them to give to kids in need, rebuilding and painting a house in Broward, and packing food bags on a weekly basis for dialysis patients in the Miami area. Plus the teenagers get to go on fun field trips. And the last week of camp we take the teens to Tennessee for a team building experience, white water rafting, paint balling, sleeping in the woods, and a whole lot of fun!!
