All I can say and do, is believe that God hand is in all of this! If your going through a situation, don’t stop believing in God.  Let him continue to guide you, even if the road looks blur, but God’s vision is never blurred!!!!

Man, my weight is dropping.  It’s been over 2 months now since I started this new diet and working out more.  Also not eating late like after 8, has really helped!!  But it’s not really showing, except for my waist. I can tell, because I have to wear a belt in order to hold my jeans up.   Now I just need to lose 10 more pounds and I can start lifting again!!!  Well that was my weight update!!

I just woke up, after my afternoon nap.  I don’t usually sleep Sunday’s afternoon, but after 3 Services, boy was I exhausted.  And it was 3 good services, with 10 am the most hyped!  Both 8 am and noon service didn’t give off the same energy, but they are faithful and come every week!!  Today was communion Sunday, and our Pastor continued his current series on Faith Living, with this week titled ” How to relate Wisely to others.” Last couple of weeks I can truly say I have felt like the pastor was talking directly to my wife!!  Maybe there are some points here and there for me, but MOSTLY FOR MY WIFE!!!! :).  Here are his notes, they may be helpful to you!!

  • James 3:13-18 (vs 18 main verse - And those who are peace makers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of goodness.”
  • We need to learn how to be wise in the way we act toward others.
  • James does 3 things in the passage.
  1. Defines real wisdom
  2. Shows how godly wisdom differs from human wisdom, and
  3. Details how wisdom operates.
  • Wisdom is a lifestyle and lack of wisdom causes problems - ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS!!
  • Verse 17 list the characteristics of wise people:
  1. If I’m wise I will not comprise my integrity
  2. If I’m wise I will not antagonize your anger. 3 things that causes anger: Comparing, Condemning, and Contradicting
  3. If I’m wise I wont minimize your feelings.  I can be guilty of this sometimes :). “If I’m wise I will not minimize your feelings.  I don’t have to accept them but I can try and understand them.
  4. If I’m wise I wont criticize your decisions/suggestions.
  5. If I’m wise I won’t emphasize your mistakes.  (AHHHHHH MAN!!!!! I mean AMEN!!!)
  6. If I’m wise, I wont disguise my own weaknesses.

All in all, it was a very relevant message that I enjoyed.  I also got a chance to work the communion table with Pastor, it was a great honor to be asked to do that with him, and thankful for the opportunity.  I was NERVOUS, standing next to the SENIOR PASTOR, serving communion.  Cause I feel like I’m not worthy to be serving HIS people, but I thank God that his grace is new everyday and gives me opportunity to serve his people.

What do you get when you combine mentos candy and a 16 oz of diet coke, AN EXPLOSION!! Tonight was a great service, awesome worship, the praise sounded so nice!!  Everything looked like it flowed smoothly and we ended on time!! The message was either a home-run or a complete miss, and I believe it was a home run!! When ever any of the kids picks up a Coca Cola bottle, I believe they will hear the message of Anger Management.  The theme was pretty much ANYONE WHO ANGERS YOU CONQUERS YOU!!

  • Lesson Topic: Coke Bottle Effect - How 2 Control Your Anger.  Genesis 4:2-7
  1. Every one gets angry, nothing wrong with anger, but what how you react after your angry.
  2. When were are angry people are usually one of these: Aggressive, Passive, Deflective, or in Denial.
  3. How should we control our anger: Stop and Think, Consider some responses, consider the consequences from each response, and choose the best/safest one.  If all fails, PRAY!!!!!
  • Attendance: Average  (The young adults joined us in service tonight)
  • Fun Factor: Above average (Great videos off of you tube, plus the drinking the coke contest)
  • Volunteer Involvement: Average
  • Music: Above average (The praise team sounded VERY nice, and were really into the songs and wanting more of God)
  • Lesson Quality: Above Average (The video, the visual, the stories, and illustrations really flowed. I really put some effort into this message, compared to my last where I really thought I blew it.
  • Length of Lesson: 32 minutes (Thats WAAAYYYY too long!!, but the funny thing is, the kids were right there soaking it all in and we still ended before 9!! The adults were still in their study when I went back there!!!) We beat the adults out of service!!!
  • Student Response: Above Average (a lot of kids at the altar and one young lady gave her life to Christ!! Glory to God!!

Man, one thing I have been doing lately when I know I’m going to share is I pray in our sanctuary, I walk in and out of the chairs just praying that the kids would be focused and receive what God has for them to hear!!

Tonight Im sharing and the title of the message is “The Coke Bottle Effect”.  Im talking about Anger Management and I’m using the story of Cain and Abel!! Here are a couple of things I have planned to make things smooth.

  • Downloaded a couple of you tube videos on anger and coca cola.
  • Going to have a drinking contest to see who can drink a bottle of coca cola the fastest
  • Have an interview with one of the local rappers Prodigal Son who will share his story on anger and a decision he made while angry and how it effected him

So those are just a few of the highlights!! I’m excited and can’t wait to see what God does in our service tonight!!
